Defeated New Zealand’s Marcus Carney to win bronze in the 125kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi after wins over Claude MBIANGA and Pakistan’s Zaman ANWAR in the earlier rounds, Chinu was beaten by the eventual champion, Canada’s Corey JARVIS, in the semifinals. The loss was heartbreaking because he wanted to prove himself and make his family proud while competing in his native India. He goes by the name Chinu. Four-time British champion.
