Mateja Efremovska started her athletic career in 2008, when she was 12. She is the first athlete of her coach Filip Kolevski. Mateja first competed in several events, including 100m hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put and triple jump. She set a national record in triple jump in 2013. But in July 2013 she was injured after a setting a personal best in long jump. After taking a year to recover, she changed event and from August 2014 she practises discus throw.
Mateja is member of the best athletic club in Macedonia - A.K Kumanovo.
Her best placements in competition are 3rd place in Bulgaria in high jump, and 5th place in the Balkan championships.
She is a student studying French and is learning Albanian, German and Chinese.
In her free time, she reads and plays piano.
