Finishing third at the St Etienne indoor, which was his first international podium in elite competition.
Niklas began BMX racing at age six in 1998 because his brother was involved in the sport. He has competed at elite level since 2011 but took almost a full year off in 2013 to consider his future in the sport. Since autumn 2013 he has been training and competing at 100 per cent with new goals to fulfil. During his break, he took a strength and conditioning coaching education course and began to train himself and other BMX riders.
