Winning my first international medal at the Spanish Open in 2013
I was introduced to synchronised swimming having started out as a competitive gymnast and swimmer. Synchro seemed to satisfy my athletic and performance ambitions. My international debut was the FINA World Championships in Barcelona. My preferred discipline is duet. I train five days (two rest days) and anything from three-seven hours a day. Superstition I have is to wear the same nose clip and have 'Monty, the motivational monkey' (soft toy) with me. Injuries include the usual swimmers shoulder and I had to reduce my training load for four months in order to get stronger. My most influential person is Jenny GRAY (international coach/judge); she was my first figures coach and helped me believe that I could be successful in this sport. My proudest moment was achieving my GCSEs on the basis of just a day a week at school.
