Additional information / What would you like people to know about you?

Valerian started practicing rifle shooting when he was eight years old. He competed in his first international competition in 1994 at the age of 14. At 16, he won his first European medal. As a junior, he won five medals at the European level and a bronze medal at the 1998 World Championships. In 2003, he considered a career change after the disappointment of missing the 2004 Athens Olympic team. He came back stronger and made the 2008 Beijing Olympic team in both prone and three positions finals. He went on to win a silver medal at the 2010 Munich World Championships. His lifetime dream is to win an Olympic medal. He looks forward to competing at the European Games in Baku, on his way to the big prize, the Olympic Games.
