Three-time world championship medallist, winning gold in 2014 and 2010 (Junior) and silver in 2013. Three-time European Championships gold medallist (2011 team, 2013 & 2014 individual).
Competed in the men's 81kg event at the London 2012 Olympic Games. After defeating Tomislav MARIJANOVIC (CRO) in the second round, he was eliminated by Travis STEVENS (USA) in due to injury.
The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia named him the Best Georgian Sportsman of 2014.
