Ida first set her foot in a boxing gym at age eight. She started training in the TIFA Boxing Club, which was founded by her grandfather in 1960. It was not love at first sight, but the sport grew on her and she started competing in U15 fights at age nine. Some of her family members found it strange for a girl to compete in boxing, but became very supportive after Ida proved to be a talent in the ring. Ida's ambition is to win a medal in Baku, and then continue to aim against the biggest goal she has as an athlete - the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
