The Courtois family are a gifted sporting bunch, boasting international talent in Chelsea FC goalkeeper Thibaut and his Volleyball-playing sister Valerie.

Libero Valerie will compete at the Baku 2015 European Games for Belgium - better known by their nickname the 'Yellow Tigers'.

The 24-year-old revealed she supports and offers advice to younger brother Thibaut as they compete for their country at the highest level of international sport.

“We both represent our national team, so we have a lot of shared experiences about preparing and competing," she said. "Last year, for example, we were each playing in world championships.

“Unfortunately, I don’t get a chance to watch my brother play very much as I have my own games to play, but my parents will be coming to Baku to watch me. My mum really wants to see Baku, so she said this is the perfect opportunity."

Belgium, ranked no.13 in the world, will face five tough matches in Pool A, against Italy, Turkey, Poland, Azerbaijan and Romania.

“Our goal is to get to the quarterfinals, and then it will depend on how tough our opponents are," said Courtois.

“In our group, the games against Italy and Turkey will be tough, but we have a lot of our top players here, so we are hopeful of getting good results.

"We are also looking forward to playing against Azerbaijan. They will have the support of the home crowd behind them. They will be doing their best, so it will be difficult.”
